This comes from a brochure for the Rutherford County History Book. It is part of the autobiographical sketch by Ernest King Johns. "On my mother's side of the family, Mary Frances King (1907-1992) grew up on the farm owned by her grandparents. The Kings came from North Carolina and first lived in Wilson and Williamson counties. Mary Frances received a teaching degree from Tennessee Teachers College and taught school before she was married. Many of her cousins still live near Smyrna. Ernest K. Johns continues to live on part of the old farm bought in October 1863 by his grandparents King." Estelle Hall
There were/are Kings in Bedford County in Rover. Rover is at the county line of Rutherford. There are several King stories in the History of Rover Book I and Book II. I don't remember the names, but made copies some time back for someone on the list.
