    1. [TNRUTHER] Surname:REED in early 1800s
    2. I haven’t posted for awhile. I am looking for information, connections, etc. on Jesse REED, my ggggrandfather. I believe he was the Jessee REED (line.268) of 1830 Rutherford Co TN census. I haven’t been able to pinpoint him in the 1840 census though. According to information I have he was born in around 1788 in VA. He married Mary Fagon and I know that they had 2 sons—Burton L. (b. abt.1824, TN) and Jessee L. (born about 1833, TN). In 1850, Jesse and Burton show up in the Marshall Co. KY census. But, I also found a couple of other REED families who migrated to KY at about the same time that my REED line did. 1) Lemuel REED (b. abt 1822 in TN) with his wife Margaret (b, around 1820, TN) and a daughter, Mary J., born in around 1848, KY. ( Because of some previous e-mail contacts -I don’t have them with me at this moment-, it is believed that Jesse had a brother named Lemuel. So could Jesse have had a son he named Lemuel? 2) William W. Reed (b. about 1823, TN) and his wife, Seberry (born abt. 1830, TN). They had one son, Richard F. born in TN in about 1845. I may be grasping at straws, but I wonder if he was also a possible brother to Burton Reed? Burton REED, my gggrandfather, married a Sarah C. JOURDAN/JORDAN in the early 1840s. I don’t know where though. Was there a JORDAN family in Rutherford Co with the following members: Elizabeth Jordan, born around 1801 in SC; James F., born around 1833 in TN, and Josiah " , born around 1840, also in TN Was this the mother of Sarah C. JORDAN-REED? My first website listed below has the descendants of my Jessey REED. If anyone has any other information and/or corrections, please feel free to contact me.
