I came in on the end of a Morton conversation and I am wondering if James of Smyrna, TN, -- the Revolutionary soldier -- served in NC or elsewhere & if he is kin to Samuel Morton who purchased land from Sarah C. & John Edwards when they departed for MO?

Carolyn, I am not sure where James Blythe Morton served, but I do know that he was in prison in Charleston for maybe three years. I have never run into the land purchase and Samuel Morton doesn't ring a bell. I have neglected the Morton family for a while and I need to get back to work on it.
