Hi Nancy, As far back as I've gone on my MAULDIN line is to Blake Marcus MAULDIN b. 1816 in AL. I don't know where he married, but he is found on the 1840 Tishomingo Co., MS census and stays there until the 1880s. He moved to Wise Co., TX to be with some of his children and died there in 1900. Blake's father was born in NC according to most census reports from 1880-1900. My husband's CASTLEMAN folks are from Rutherford Co., TN: Henry CASSELMAN and Elizabeth GILLESPIE. Which line is yours? Dear Janice, Thanks so much for the Castleman info. My husband hasn't worked on his Castleman line in years, but I'm sure this will prove extremely helpful when he does FINALLY get around to them.
