My great great grandfather, William Ezra M. Linfield, was a Methodist circuit rider. He lived in South Carolina in the mid 1800's and then moved to Holly Springs, Mississippi. There was an early Rutherford County Methodist preacher named Robert Paine, which is the name William gave his son. I've always thought that was neat since my Linfields were never in Middle Tennessee.
