Would appreciate some help from the groups. I have been trying to obtain a photocopy of a circuit court case. On March 20,1821,Turner Pinkston sued my ancestor,Arthur Pearce and William Barfield. Pinkston won the case. Pearce and Bar- field did not pay the $20 or $30 someodd judgment. So Pinkston,went back to court and got an order for the Sheriff to take over the property. A writ fierci facias. Stokely D Pearce,one of Arthur's son,successfully bid on the 250 acre property by paying the judgment,etc. This,I have from a booklet that Edythe Whitley wrote on my Pearce family. I e-mailed the Rutherford Co Archives,they advised me to write to Ms Eloise Gaither,(Rutherford Co Circuit Court Clerk) The response was,"These records would be in our archives and the gentleman who takes care of these,informed me that it could be several years before they start processing any of the Circuit Court information. His phone#615-867-4609. Add Rutherford County Courthouse Suite 301,Murfreesboro" Neither the Mormons nor the Tenn State Archives have the 1821 circuit court records of Rutherford County.
