Jean, do you have a Rexanne CARTER, whose maiden name might have been DAVIS. I have her in my files and I have a letter that she wrote to my great, great grandfather Aquilla DAVIS in 1873 and she addresses him as "Dear Uncle" I am familiar with the SANFORD name in the Lavergne Area, too.
