I have seen this "Big Springs" area around Claiborne County in the Powell River Valley area in some research dated around 1800-05. I'm wondering if there is another area in or around Rutherford County called by that name. I found a Big Springs Road in my Rutherford County street atlas. It runs between Manchester Pike (US Hwy 41) and Bradyville Pike (State Hwy 99). There is also an "area" called Big Springs on that road; it is near Hurricane Creek. All this is in the southeastern part of the county. -Deb ----- Original Message ----- Deborah H Maddox <scvolsfan@juno.com> writes: I have seen this "Big Springs" area around Claiborne County in the Powell River Valley area in some research dated around 1800-05.
