Dear Rutherford County Reseachers, This request is to identify Bettie Jones (?James?) Massey (b. approximately 1890 - d. 192?), her parentage, siblings, of basic information. I fully expect to find mixed race B, W, and/or American Indian - but with no certainty. 1910 census finds them in Rutherford County following the birth of James - but is difficult to read. See below. Additionally, 1916 and 1920 census finds them in Davidson County. See below. We have later info on Ellen Elizabeth. Orphaned or abandoned to Potts Camp, MS "home" in the 1920's she was adopted by the Hardigan family (angels!) of Memphis in 1930-31 at 13/14-ish...is wife's mother, now deceased and either knew nothing or would not "discuss." Possibly behind this brick wall someone can find records of: Bettie (or M.R. "Mack" Massey; or son, James; or Mack's father, John). All of these people seem to have been lost! 1. Marriage - 1909,1908, 1910, 1907 - if any - should have family names and ages 2. Birth Cert or record of James which will have info on Bettie - 1909,1908,1910 3. Birth Cert or record of Bettie Jones (there is a Bettie James of the correct age in Rutherford County) I cannot find or tie either together. 4. Birth Cert or record of M.R. "Mack: Massey 5.
