The following is taken from "Goodspeeds History of NE Arkansas" "Boswell Blackburn PAYNE, Sr., retired farmer, is a native of Rutherford County, TN, born February 1, 1815, and is a son of James and Permelia Ann (HITCHCOCK) PAYNE, born in NC and Ireland, respectively, though they were reared, married and resided in TN, and died in that state about 1827 and 1828 respectively." This family is my brick wall. I cannot find any records of this family ever existing in TN anywhere. Boswell is my gg-grandfather. Once he came to AR (1843) I have found a ton on info on him and his family, but nothing in Rutherford County. If anyone has any leads or even a hint of info please let me know. Boswell Blackburn Payne married Nancy Nettles who was born in Franklin Co., TN in 1817. They were married in Dyer County, TN in 1836. Darlene Jackson Hofer ehofer@internetwork.net
