Hi Folks, My hypothesis is that Louisa Ann SPRINGER (06 JUL 1831 – 28 APR 1916), wife of Samuel Jonah LENTZ (08 SEP 1826 – 16 AUG 1910) is the daughter of Josiah SPRINGER and his 2nd wife, Rebecca SIKES. I understand Rebecca Sikes to be the daughter of Thomas Aldridge Sikes. I have seen where folks list Elizabeth Springer as the daughter of Josiah and Rebecca, but I think they may be missing Louisa (as another daughter of theirs), since she married in 1849, and thus exited the home of her father just before the 1850 census. I am trying to find information which will confirm or refute this notion. I am hoping that people can provide information regarding SIKES, SPRINGER, and LENTZ (sometimes LANCE or LENS, etc.). Particularly, I would like to know if the will of Thomas Aldridge Sikes mentions his grandchildren. Alternatively, does the will of his wife, Sarah (Willis) Sikes mention grandchildren? Or perhaps there is something in the pension records, obituaries, Bibles, etc. In any case, I am hoping someone can help me tie “my” Louisa Ann (Springer) Lentz to Josiah Springer.
