Hello, If you ever need data about Benjamin Towler Elder who marr. Eliza Wade and had 9 children, come back anytime and I will share info that is found in a book about a Wade family from MD. who moved to TN. Happy Holidays, Duane -- Donna & Duane DeVoe Come Visit Lena, Illinois! http://www.villageoflena.com >>> [email protected] 12/14/04 1:37 PM >>> I am interested in the William Elder born 1748 that is mentioned in this letter. My Elder family lived in Rutherford Co. Tennessee but I do not know when they got there nor where they came from exactly. Could the birth you mentioned have been in Virginia? My Great Great Grandmother Martha Louisa Montgomery married David Elder in Rutherford County around 1825. I have not been able to find a record of that but have found her siblings in the marriage records so she must have been there also unless she and David Elder went into a different county to marry. They soon moved to Illinois. Any one with information out there?
