The marriage records that have been transcribed and available online have been most helpful. "thank you" <FancyMGM<at>aol.com> Would like to share and learn more about the early Forbes and Patterson families of Rutherford County TN. My 3d great grandparents were James and Frances Forbes Patterson who married in Rutherford County on 20 October 1838. By 1840 they had moved to Shelby County Illinois and began their family. Frances died in 1902 and James died 1905. James & Frances had 8 children to include my 2nd great grandmother Rhoda Ann Elizabeth Patterson, born 1842, married Wm H Douthit in 1860 Shelby County Illinois. William and Rhoda had 7 children.
