Tabitha Ella "Bitha" White, daughter of William Carroll White and Cornelia Cothran, was born 18 Jul 1879 in Rutherford County, TN. While this person should have been enumerated on the 1880 census, I have yet to find him or her. Tabitha Ella "Bitha" White married Stephen Elmore "Shack" Bennett, son of Drewy B. Bennett and Sally Lovenia "Venia" Smotherman, in 1897. The 1900 Federal Population census enumerated the head of the household and the relationship of each person living in the household to him or her. It listed their ages, the number of years the head of household and his wife were married, the number of children born to the mother and how many of those children were still living. Tabitha A. Bennett (age 20) was listed as the wife of Stephen E. Bennett (age 23) on the 1900 census in the 8th Civil District of Rutherford County, TN, on 12 Jun 1900. Tabitha Ella "Bitha" White was listed as Stephen Elmore "Shack" Bennett's wife on the 1920 Census in Rutherford County, TN, on 22 Jan 1920. ED 120, Sheet 8, line 28. Tabitha Ella "Bitha" White died 31 Jan 1958 assumably in TN? Bitha Bennett was buried in the #6 Bennett Cemetery located in Rover, Rutherford County, TN. They had 4 children, Mary, Richard, Willie May and Louise.
