    1. LANDRUM
    2. Noel C. Matthews
    3. Hi, I have posted this before but since everyone is listing their connections to Rutherford County I thought I would try again. I am trying to trace back my LANDRUM family connection and cannot find anyone earlier than Nathaniel Carpenter Landrum, b. November 26, 1847 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. My idea is that he had to have parents and they have had to come from somewhere, and they had to have gone somewhere. This is what I have right now: Nathaniel Carpenter Landrum, b. November 26, 1847 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, TN. He died March 17, 1922 not sure where. I know nothing more about Nathaniel or who his parents were, or from where they came or went. Nathaniels parents departed Rutherford County, Tennessee prior to 1850 and don't show up again until 1872 when they are in San Augustine, Texas. They may have gone through Jones County, Mississippi and be connected with the branch of Landrum's and the Landrum Homestead at Laurel, Mississippi. Nathaniel married Margarette Noel (Jan. 26, 1871 at San Augustine, San Augustine County, Texas) b. July 29, 1848 and died April 6, 1928. No places. The Noel family was in Mississippi in 1842, 1844 and 1846 as three girls were born somewhere in the state. don't know yet where. They celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary in San Augustine in 1921. Children: James Edward Landrum, born January 17, 1872 at San Augustine, San Augustine County, Texas Susan Emma Landrum, born March 17, 1873, at Pleasant Hill, Sabine Parish, Louisiana Aleatha Ann Landrum, born Dec. 4, 1874 Florance Californa Landrum born 1876 Smith County, Texas David Landrum, born Feb 21, 1878, Henderson, Rusk County, Texas Ida Eugene Landrum born Sept.13, 1882, Robline, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana Maggie Adelia Landrum born Feb 11, 1886 Nora Bell Landrum born July 31, 1888 Fred Landrum born Nov 22, 1890 in Tyler, Smith County, Texas Thomas Murry Landrum (my great uncle) born Sept. 22, 1879, San Marcus, Hays County, Texas, d. 1957 married about 1918 Virginia Frances Lay born Feb. 12, 1888, d. 1983. Thomas Murry Landrum married (about 1913) Virginia Lay (born February 12, 1888, and died 1983. Children of Thomas and Virginia: Thomas Eugene Landrum (my uncle) born 1914 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana married (December 19, 1946) Jessie Virginia Matthews Frances Murrel Landrum Earl Robins Landrum Mildred Wallie Landrum Does any of this fit with anything you have found? Thanks Noel Matthews [email protected] Denver, Colorado > List has been a little quiet lately, so calling a roll call. Who are you > researching???

    3. Noel, Is it possible that your Landrums went to Florence, Alabama? Ken has a whole family of them there..they've been there over 100 yrs that I know of. My Dad was born and raised in Laurel.
