Zack was born in Va.and was listed on the 1850 third civil district Cannon census,age 24, with Lucy THOMAS, age 50, who I presume to be his mother, and several younger children. Zack married Isabella TRAVIS in Cannon County in 1850 and moved to Rutherford County where he lived the remainder of his life. Zack and Isabella are buried in Travis Cemetery near Readyville in Cannon County. Also trying to find info on Isabella TRAVIS' parents and information on one of Zack's sons, James THOMAS, born abt 1864 in Rutherford Coulnty and one of Zack's daughter's, Mary THOMAS b. 1850 in Rutherford County, who married a Thomas? BATY and then a HARRIS. Story is that Mr Baty got in a shootout with deputies and fled to Texas. I have no info on Mary after marrying the HARRIS. Other children of Zack THOMAS: George W (my g.grandfather) married Roxanna NORTHCOTT (looking for info on the NORTHCOTT familiy) in Rutherford Co and moved to Red River Co,Texas in early 1880's Sarah Ann married John F PASCHAL. Fannie Kate married John D VAUGHT. Maggie L married Thomas L TARPLEY (moved to Fannin County, Texas after 1880). Callie Matilda married David Hall PASCHAL (brother to John above) Jessie A married Molly Almont DUBOIS and moved to Red River Co, Texas after 1880. Eliza Jane married William Joe FARMER and moved to Fannin County Texas after 1880. William Zachariah married Jennie Mary SAFFAL then Sallie D SMITH and moved to Red River Co, Texas in 1911. I am also looking for information on Zack's second wife, Nancy O. WALKUP (married in 06/13/1877), and if there were any children by this union. His third marraige was to Emeline SAFFAL 11/27/1883 in Cannon County.
