Hi Everyone, Thought I might send some info. on all the surnames I am hunting in Rutherford Co. First.... Andrew Carnahan - b. 11 June 1762 Md - d. 4 May 1839 - Rutherford Co., Tn md 9 Jan 1783 prob. Guilford Co., NC to Elizabeth Billingsley - d. bef 1808 children: Hugh - 6 Apr 1784 - md Elizabeth Tennison James - 18 Dec 1786 - md Jane/Jennie Helton John - 18 Mar 1788 - md Sarah Dickey Thomas - 18 Aug 1790 - ?? Ann - 3 Oct 1792 - ?? Mary - 3 Jan 1795 - md William Hard Youree Hugh died in 1824 and most of his children moved to Missouri. James and his family stayes in Rutherford where he died in 1864. He and Jane had 9 children. The surnames of the spouses of those 9 children include: Gilley, Lyon, Whitfield, Roberts, Akers, Gaither, Carter, and McCrary. John and his family ended up in Indiana Thomas and Ann have always been a mystery. Thomas did marry but we don't know who or when. Ann probably died before 1816 and we don't know if she married or not. Mary and her family stayed in Rutherford for a bit and then some of the children moved to Missouri and then Texas.
