Is it close to a church on Thompson Lane? If so, that's Julius Wade (1820-1879). I visited once, took pictures. Drives my husband crazy! He doesn't understand my fascination with old cemeteries. The church is doing a large construction project, so I called them the other day just to ensure that the grave would not be disturbed and access to the gravesite would still be available.. They assured me he wouldn't be disturbed! Lori Mari Byers <keyofbflat@comcast.net> wrote: Thank you, thank you! Maybe we should have a Founder's Day parade :) Maybe old Williams would show up. His parents were big on using last names as first names. He was for sure from the South! Ok, the grave stone is off to the right if you're leaving the mall...It's down further toward Memorial. Two streets kinda cross and it makes it hard to look down at the stone. It's well kept. Ken pitches a hissy if i even mention going down there. You have to look fast out the front passenger window...and look DOWN. Mari :) At 12:45 PM 10/10/2006, you wrote: >Somehow I've missed that grave! Well, if it's the right one it's one the Mall side of Thompson Lane. <g> I drive my husband Ken crazy. I climb that high fence around the old Vine St. Cemetery. He won't do it..says someone has to be there to bail me out! Girl, we gotta get together! You live in the 'Boro? I'm in Smyrna, on the M'boro side. Ken is with MTSU so he has these strange schedules. (He's in Audio-Visual so he has to be available when something needs shooting or editing or directing..yawn. ) <g> Mari At 02:13 PM 10/10/2006, you wrote: >Is it close to a church on Thompson Lane? You have a Rebecca Wade? My best friend does also. I'll ask her about it. It may not even be the correct family but it won't hurt to ask.
