Tom. I believe we have communicated before and know definitely from your interest that we are kin. I would be glad to share any information that you need that I have with you. I have information on all these lines. I was raised in Wilson County and now live in Rutherford County. I can check out any information that you need as I have access to the libraries and archives in both counties. Sarah J.
Just a quick note. My ggg-grand-uncle was the first white man to marry in Wilson County. That seems like such a long time ago! His name was (can't recall the name)someone Harpole. His brother was Martin Harpole. That line was mine...Martin, etc. Mari Harpole Byers At 07:10 PM 10/15/2006, you wrote: >Tom. >I believe we have communicated before and know definitely from your interest >that we are kin. > >I would be glad to share any information that you need that I have with you. > I have information on all these lines. Is the following connected to you? My Jonathan Lassiter married Nancy Davis in Wilson Co TN 1824. 1867 Feb. 16 - Power of atty. from Paris M. CREEL of Marion Co., IL to S.S. PRESTON as gdn. of John O. RIDDER and Edwin E. RIDDER minor heirs or children of W.J.W. RIDDER, dec'd. ...right of my wife Susan E. CREEL formerly Susan E. LASSITER, (dau. of Absalom LASSITER, bro. of Kessiah LASSITER) and afterwards Susan E. RIDDER (wife of W.J.W. RIDDER now dec'd.).... /S/ Paris M. CREEL ...W.W. LASATER; Purnell LANE. - Whereas by grant from the State of TN, Kesia LASATER has a title to land Civil District 20 of Wilson County on waters of Falling Creek bounded by lands held by Adam WEAVER... Thomas JONES ... John A. CASON ... 102 1/2a whereon Absalom LASATER now lives. Now I Frances BARKER for the sum of $25. transfer to Absalom LASATER all the right title claim and interest that I have or may hereafter have to the above mentioned tract of land.... 12 Oct. 1853. /S/ Fanney BARKER. Test: J.B. BARKER; George VAUGHT. - Whereas by grant.... [The same as above written.] 9 Sept. 1854. /S/ Jonathan S. LASATER. Test: J.B. LASATER, David X JONES. - Whereas by grant.... LASATER. /S/ H.T. LASATER. Test: J.T. HUDDLESTON; James B. LASATER. - Whereas by grant.... [The same as above written except adds "and Jeremiah CASONS land."] 25 Sept. 1856. /S/ James LASATER. Test: J.B. LASATER; Z.C. LASATER. 1867 Mar. 4 - Whereas Absolom LASSITER purchased five shares in the estate of Kisia LASSITER his sister, the five shares being owned by his brothers and sisters ... both Kesia and Absolom now being dead.... "We the undersigned legatees appoint S.S. PRESTON our atty. in fact...." /S/ Matthew X ESTES, Purcell LANE, W.W. LASATER, T.S. LASATER. Test: B.J. TANNER; W.J. ATKINSON; E.J. GOLLADAY. 1868 Aug. 14 - Deposition of W.M. LASSITER, son of Jacob B. LASSATER, says, "Kezia lived first with her mother, then for 18 or 20 years or longer with Absalom. She stayed there until he died, which was I reckon in 1857. Kezia went then to his father's the summer after the Fall in which Absalom died. She stayed there 7 or 8 years before she died. She has been dead since Oct. 1864. Absalom was my uncle. I have heard my father and my aunt Mrs. ALLEN, say they had sold their interest to Absolom for the benefit of Kezia.... I reckon Mrs. ALLEN has been a widow some 7 or 8 years. Her husband died just before the war commenced, I think her husband was living in July 1855 the date of the deed purporting to be from Elizabeth ALLEN to Absolom LASSATER. I do not think Fanny BARKER was a married woman in 1853. She is not married now... A man by the name of BUTLER, a preacher of the gospel, did rent the land. He is dead now...." /S/ Wm. M.
