    1. Re: [TNRUTHER] Lasater, Lasssiter, Donnell, Florida, Jennings.
    2. Deborah Parks
    3. Is the following connected to you? My Jonathan Lassiter married Nancy Davis in Wilson Co TN 1824. 1867 Feb. 16 - Power of atty. from Paris M. CREEL of Marion Co., IL to S.S. PRESTON as gdn. of John O. RIDDER and Edwin E. RIDDER minor heirs or children of W.J.W. RIDDER, dec'd. ...right of my wife Susan E. CREEL formerly Susan E. LASSITER, (dau. of Absalom LASSITER, bro. of Kessiah LASSITER) and afterwards Susan E. RIDDER (wife of W.J.W. RIDDER now dec'd.).... /S/ Paris M. CREEL ...W.W. LASATER; Purnell LANE. - Whereas by grant from the State of TN, Kesia LASATER has a title to land Civil District 20 of Wilson County on waters of Falling Creek bounded by lands held by Adam WEAVER... Thomas JONES ... John A. CASON ... 102 1/2a whereon Absalom LASATER now lives. Now I Frances BARKER for the sum of $25. transfer to Absalom LASATER all the right title claim and interest that I have or may hereafter have to the above mentioned tract of land.... 12 Oct. 1853. /S/ Fanney BARKER. Test: J.B. BARKER; George VAUGHT. - Whereas by grant.... [The same as above written.] 9 Sept. 1854. /S/ Jonathan S. LASATER. Test: J.B. LASATER, David X JONES. - Whereas by grant.... [The same as above written] 29 Dec. 1849. /S/ Stanford A. LASATER. Test: Thomas VAUGHTER, James B. LASATER, James X UPCHURCH. - Whereas by grant.... [The same as above written] 26 July 1855. /S/ Eli ALLEN, Elizabeth X ALLEN. Test: Wm. M. LASATER, Thomas J. LASATER. - Whereas by grant.... [The same as above written] 27 Sept. 1853 Hesekiah T. LASATER. /S/ H.T. LASATER. Test: J.T. HUDDLESTON; James B. LASATER. - Whereas by grant.... [The same as above written except adds "and Jeremiah CASONS land."] 25 Sept. 1856. /S/ James LASATER. Test: J.B. LASATER; Z.C. LASATER. 1867 Mar. 4 - Whereas Absolom LASSITER purchased five shares in the estate of Kisia LASSITER his sister, the five shares being owned by his brothers and sisters ... both Kesia and Absolom now being dead.... Absalom's heirs are the following children: W.W. LASSITER, Thomas Mathew ESTES and Fannie his wife, Polly who married P. LANE and is dead leaving one child Ann E. and three others.... "We the undersigned legatees appoint S.S. PRESTON our atty. in fact...." /S/ Matthew X ESTES, Purcell LANE, W.W. LASATER, T.S. LASATER. Test: B.J. TANNER; W.J. ATKINSON; E.J. GOLLADAY. 1868 Aug. 14 - Deposition of W.M. LASSITER, son of Jacob B. LASSATER, says, "Kezia lived first with her mother, then for 18 or 20 years or longer with Absalom. She stayed there until he died, which was I reckon in 1857. Kezia went then to his father's the summer after the Fall in which Absalom died. She stayed there 7 or 8 years before she died. She has been dead since Oct. 1864. Absalom was my uncle. I have heard my father and my aunt Mrs. ALLEN, say they had sold their interest to Absolom for the benefit of Kezia.... I reckon Mrs. ALLEN has been a widow some 7 or 8 years. Her husband died just before the war commenced, I think her husband was living in July 1855 the date of the deed purporting to be from Elizabeth ALLEN to Absolom LASSATER. I do not think Fanny BARKER was a married woman in 1853. She is not married now... A man by the name of BUTLER, a preacher of the gospel, did rent the land. He is dead now...." /S/ Wm. M. 1. [TNRUTHER] Roll Call: Charles David Ivie
    2. I am looking for information about the children of Charles David Ivie and his wife, Judith Wood. They were married 11 Aug 1834 in Rutherford County. Judith Wood was the daughter of Edmund and Elizabeth Johns Wood. Charles David Ivie and Judith Wood appear to have had at least 12 children, including Thomas Glover Ivie, Henry J. Ivie (married Roxanna Jackson), Charles D. Ivie and Benjamin Ivie. Judith Wood Ivie died prior to 1860 and Charles David Ivie married Jennie Warren sometime after 1860. It does not appear that there were children born to this marriage. If anyone has information about the Charles David Ivie family, please let me know. Bob Newsome

    2. My Christian line begins with the Thomas Christian, I, the "immigrant ancestor." If this is your line, please let me know and I will be glad to share the information I have. It goes like: The earliest ancestor, Thomas Christian (ca 1636-after 1894), patented land in Charles City County, Virginia in 1687. He had four sons: Thomas (b. ca 1684); Charles; James (b ca 1692-bef 1752); and John. Samuel Preston Christian (b.ca 1844) son of abner Early Christian and his wife, who also was his cousin, Martha Early Preston was born in Wilson County, Tennessee. He married 1865 Mary E. Estes, daughter of Mathew Estes and Fanny Lasater. He inherited the Preston estate from his mother and managed it until his death in 1918. He had six children born in Wilson County, Tennessee. 3. Just a quick note. My ggg-grand-uncle was the first white man to marry in Wilson County. That seems like such a long time ago! His name was (can't recall the name)someone Harpole. His brother was Martin Harpole. That line was mine...Martin, etc. Mari Harpole Byers At 07:10 PM 10/15/2006, you wrote: >Tom. >I believe we have communicated before and know definitely from your interest >that we are kin. > >I would be glad to share any information that you need that I have with you. > I have information on all these lines. 3. The big deal is that it will allow rootsweb to run the system for a few more years. I would imagine that it is cheaper than the older system and newer. For some reason it doesn't like HTML in signature lines. The problem is the posts don't bounce back to me where I can allow them through like other posts do so I have no way of knowing who is having a problem, unless like Pat, they write and say, "what the heck is going on." Once the migration is done, it will hopefully work right. Notice now that all our emails are bouncing and then the server is sending them on. Once the transition is complete, that won't be on the messages any more. 3. I also have Watts and Ball lines. The Ball line is from George's Mom. Of course, George had no children so there goes that. My Watts and Cannon lines came from Laurens County, SC. We finally decided that buying more than one very nice gift for Christmas and/or birthday is just silly and too expensive! We find really good stuff so it's fine. Not that it has anything to do with anything :) Mari At 03:12 PM 10/15/2006, you wrote: >Ball , Jordan , Crouse , Watts > >Carolyn Manker Lawrence > > >------------------------------- > >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > TNRUTHER-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > > > > > > > > >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to >TNRUTHER-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the >quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > >-- >No virus found in this incoming message. >Checked by AVG Free Edition. >Version: 7.1.408 / Virus Database: 268.13.4/476 - Release Date: 10/14/2006 No virus found in this outgoing message. 2. Ginger, I am looking for a Steel/Steele, first name unknown, that Elizabeth Jetton White married probably about 1828. This was a second marriage for her and she would have been in her mid-fifties in 1828. Elizabeth's first marriage was to Thomas White abt. 1799 in NC. and they migrated to Rutherford Co., TN. around 1805. Thomas White died in 1811. Linda Linda, Who is in your Steel line? I have Steele in my line. Nancy STEELE married to Charles M. HALLl. Her brother Samuel STEELE was the father of James STEELE who married Judidah H. WOOD and Rebecca STEELE who married Thomas J. WOOD - both of these are my WOOD line. I've found the name in records as "Steele" and "Steel" among other variations. Ginger

    3. Check to see if you signature line has any HTML in it. The new server apparently is having trouble with HTML in signature lines. One thing you can do is like me is delete the HTML altogether, or you can make it text only without a hyper link. That is very hard to do with Outlook. If you have tried to post and haven't seen your message, you can reach me at TNRUTHER-admin@rootsweb.com or privately at cheasa@bellsouth.net. I am working with Pat Vance to try and get her posts working and I want everyone to be able to post to the list without troubles. Teresa Ghee Elliott
