GOLLADAY. 1868 Aug. 14 - Deposition of W.M. LASSITER, son of Jacob B. LASSATER, says, "Kezia lived first with her mother, then for 18 or 20 years or longer with Absalom. She stayed there until he died, which was I reckon in 1857. Kezia went then to his father's the summer after the Fall in which Absalom died. She stayed there 7 or 8 years before she died. She has been dead since Oct. 1864. Absalom was my uncle. I have heard my father and my aunt Mrs. ALLEN, say they had sold their interest to Absolom for the benefit of Kezia.... I reckon Mrs. ALLEN has been a widow some 7 or 8 years. Her husband died just before the war commenced, I think her husband was living in July 1855 the date of the deed purporting to be from Elizabeth ALLEN to Absolom LASSATER. I do not think Fanny BARKER was a married woman in 1853. She is not married now... A man by the name of BUTLER, a preacher of the gospel, did rent the land. He is dead now...." /S/ Wm. M.     3. Tom Thank you so much for this information. I am not a direct descendant of this line - rather, I descend from one of Nancy Davis Lasiter's sisters, Willie Ann Davis Thurman. It is interesting to note that Stanford A. Lasater (11th child of Jonathan and Nancy (Davis) Lasater) migrated to Marion Co Illinois where some of the Rutherford Co Tn Davises ended up as well. I'll have to check the census to see if they were living near each other. Perhaps Stanford went there to be near family? Looking for descendants of The Wade clain. They were suppose to be all from one family by my research. So I trying to track down all the Wades from Rutherford Tenn. Also, any other records about Jacob Lasater b. about 1762 who was son of William L Lasater d. 1784. This Jacob would have been in the war of 1812. Jacob Bell Lasater b. 1794 would have been about 18 when that war started, slim chance of him being in the war of 1812, but possible.
