Data I have indicates that John was born in 1784 but I do not know where. This makes the birthdate suspicious but could be the right one. This family migrated to MS sometimes after 1809 and could have stopped off in TN for a time (speculated, since a daughter, Mary, married there and later moved to MS). Would any of your data match any of this information? If you need more I can give you what little I have. Thank you for your time. 3. Hello All, I am researching MAYFIELD in Rutherford CO., TN. I have recently broken though a brick wall with my g.g.grandfather, John MAYFIELD, b. 1828 Rutherford CO., TN. For the past 3 years, my 2 first cousins and I could not get beyond Gallatin CO., IL. The 1860 census listed his age and state of birth but no other bios. It wasn't until I received Civil War info. from the state of IL did we learn of his CO. of birth. Also, I have learned that some of the Rutherford CO., TN MAYFIELDs moved on to Polk & Dallas CO., MO by way of AR. We have some idea as to the direction of travel for my line, 1810-TN>AR>MO(?)>IL>MO>AR-Present Any information regarding these MAYFIELDs would be most appreciated. Thank You, Kathy Ann Mayfield Waltrip

    3. Thanks everyone, Sister is in an Oklahoma Catholic Hospital, and after 4 days in OCU they have moved her to a reg. room. I've found my Burkhart on an 1850 TN Census. It's one someone just typed for the whole state so I'm unsure of the County. I'm going on word of mouth it was this county. My surnames for all my reach are: Burkhart,Stover, Lafferty, Freid/Freed, Wallace. Thanks again,, Jane ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! 2. Hi Anna, Do you have any information on Sally Lewis? I have a record of her marrying Hardy Pope in Rutherford Co. in 1831. I have a birth date of 1814 and a death date of 1883 on Hardy but nothing on Sally but her marriage in 1831. I would like anything on this family as this is another one of my brick walls. 3. I know a bit about the Parker family members whose marriages were listed in the 2/25 post by Roger and Judy Lehman, since this family intermarried with members of my family in the mid-19th century. The Sarah Evans who married Malory Parker in 1839 was the sister of my ancestor Margaret Evans, who married John Jones in 1834. Another Evans sister, Martha, married Thomas Yardley, probably a sibling or close relative of the Elizabeth Yardley who married Dollison Parker in 1839. All these families lived in District 23 of Rutherford County, in the area west and southwest of Readyville. Although I can't be certain about the relationships of all of these families, the deeds recorded in 1851, whereby the various heirs of Jonathan and Rachel Parker sold their deeds in the 181-acre Parker estate in District 23, suggest that the children of Jonathan and Rachel Parker were Exum, Garrison, Docton, Dollison, Malory, and Rachel (who married first a Douglass, then Joseph M. Holden). For more on these deeds and the parker family, see my 4/24/1999 entry on the Parker Family GenForum web page, at http://genforum.genealogy.com/parker/messages/2909.html. -Richard Carlson

    3. I'm only sure about the location of one of the 1840 census groupings posted by Carolyn in her 2/26 post: >51-103 >Benjamin Yardley (Yearly) 00011001-000020001 >Donelson Parker 10001-10001 >John Hellon, Frederick Hoover, Wm. McMurray, David Evins, Joseph Evins >Rachel Parker 00002-001010001 >Walker Peak, Cynthia Dunn This group was located near the eastern border of Rutherford County, in the district later known as Civil District 23, about a mile west or SW of Readyville. -Richard

    3. Hi Richard I have copies of the deed, and the power(s) of attorney, granted to Malery (Mallory) by Exum, Garrison, and Joseph Douglass, I am fairly certain of the children of Jonathan and Rachel Willey Parker, per the evidence in the deed. However I have some pedegrees done by someone that indicated that Isaac Jr. had a brother named Jonathan. I have sent a query to the Gates Coounty NC. list looking for some documentation on the Parkers in NC. The list is not too active, and I have not received much. While I am recuperating from Prostate Cancer Surgery, I am transcribing the Rutherford County 1851 information, and am attempting to get copies of he originals recorded in Marion County Ar, and Stewart County Tn. If you have any leads to follow in NC, I would surely appreciate it. We are planning a trip to AR and Tn in the fall, We could possibly find the time to visit NC if it would prove worthwhile. If I might have any information that you would need, please let me know.
