I am looking in the area of Readyville. My 3 gr grandmother, Hannah Bailey BOOTHE, was born at Readyville in 1814. Her parents were Nathan BOOTHE and Mary WALLIS. They moved to Indiana in about 1830. The family story is that Mary Wallis' father was a Revolutionary War veteran named Mansfield WALLIS, but we have not found his name anywhere. Thanks, Janet Parsons

Dear Rutherford County Reseachers, This request is to identify Bettie Jones (?James?) Massey (b. approximately 1890 - d. 192?), her parentage, siblings, of basic information. I fully expect to find mixed race B, W, and/or American Indian - but with no certainty. 1910 census finds them in Rutherford County following the birth of James - but is difficult to read. See below. Additionally, 1916 and 1920 census finds them in Davidson County. See below. We have later info on Ellen Elizabeth. Orphaned or abandoned to Potts Camp, MS "home" in the 1920's she was adopted by the Hardigan family (angels!) of Memphis in 1930-31 at 13/14-ish...is wife's mother, now deceased and either knew nothing or would not "discuss." Possibly behind this brick wall someone can find records of: Bettie (or M.R. "Mack" Massey; or son, James; or Mack's father, John). All of these people seem to have been lost! 1. Marriage - 1909,1908, 1910, 1907 - if any - should have family names and ages 2. Birth Cert or record of James which will have info on Bettie - 1909,1908,1910 3. Anderson Toombs appears on the 1850 Rutherford County census with a son James M. Toombs the right age for my great grandfather's brother whose picture we have.. My great grandfather Charles Thomas Toombs was not born until 1852. If you can tell me anything at all about this family, I would appreciate it so mush. Charles Thomas Toombs married Zephrine Millstead in about 1870. She is daughter of John Millstead and Mary Ann Sweatt. Thank you. Ellen
