    3. Jefferson Horton (b. ca 1810, son of Nelson and Pauline) and his wife Elisabeth Norville, lived in the Barefoot District of Rutherford County in 1850, if I remember right. (Where would that be?) I'm trying to find descendants of their sons, James and Joseph ("Joe"), as well as information about the rest of their children I would especially like to know if they had a son named John who died in the Civil War? Part of this family moved to Marshall County, and I believe they may have lived in Bedford County at one time. Also interested in James (b. Va. ca 1805) and Nancy Fowler, whose oldest daughter, Mary, married into the Webb family in Rutherford County ca 1849, and who were listed in the 1850 RU County census before moving to Marshall County around 1853-54.

    3. I'm a Rutherford County native, but was transplanted to Memphis (Shelby Co.) about a year ago. My main research areas are Rockvale and Eagleville (mother's side), Lascassas area (father's side), and Murfreesboro (both). Some of the names I'm researching are: McPEAK, FLORIDA, LANNOM, PATTERSON (father's side); BLANTON, TAYLOR, MAXWELL, PRIMM, POPLIN (mother's side). Many of my father's people came from Wilson Co. and some went to Davidson Co. before arriving in Rutherford Co. Most of my mother's people came to Rutherford Co. from Bedford Co. -Deb (new to the list)

    3. I found a Big Springs Road in my Rutherford County street atlas. It runs between Manchester Pike (US Hwy 41) and Bradyville Pike (State Hwy 99). There is also an "area" called Big Springs on that road; it is near Hurricane Creek. All this is in the southeastern part of the county. -Deb ----- Original Message ----- Deborah H Maddox <scvolsfan@juno.com> writes: I have seen this "Big Springs" area around Claiborne County in the Powell River Valley area in some research dated around 1800-05. I'm wondering if there is another area in or around Rutherford County called by that name.
