1. Re: [TNRUTHER] 1830 Rutherford County census
    2. I have a missing link in the family history. His name is William Rowland, he is found in the 1840 Census of Marshall Co., MS and later, and family information states that he and his family were in Bedford or Rutherford Co., TN, prior to that time. William was born about 1785 in NC. He was married into the Burleson family. His wife was Eleanor H. Burleson. I have reason to believe they were in TN by 1820. Would some one mind checking the 1820 and 1830 Census records for him and his family members. I would be much abliged! Ron Hughes

    3. All Federal Census records prior to 1850 are listed by head of household(to the best of my knowledge) I found the following in the 1830 Rutherford Co. Tn Census Jno S. Lowe Page 300 10001-21001 Key to 1830 & 1840 Census males - females. Age groups: 0-5, 5-10, 10-15, 15-20, 20-30, 30-40, & so forth by 10 yr. groupings to "over 100". hope this helps Marie http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rmbeckman/index.html Hi, I need to know if the 1830 census shows family information in the 00000100-00000100 style or not. Specifically, looking for information on John S. Lowe and wife Susan R. Thomas Lowe who were married 7 years prior to the census (1823), but were still listed in 1830. Thanks. Jim Lowe

    3. Natalie, My Davis family were living near Lavergne. Luckett and Jerusha Mosby Davis>Aquilla and Mary Morton Davis>Mosby and Emily Goodman Davis> Mary Catherine Davis, who is my grandmother. Her brother Ben and his wife Willy Lipscomb Davis and their children Mary Elizabeth Davis Hodges and Robert Davis were the last of the family to live at the old place on Waldron Rd. Charles Earl Hodges was their died at age 44 around 1990. He had Cystic Fibrosis. He and his parents were living in Smyrna at the time. Charles built a beautiful log home built from the logs at the old home place. It was built behind his parents home. If Mary Elizabeth, his mother is living she would be in her 90ties and in a nursing home. 2. Hi Anne, I don't have any info on George Taylor's parents. Jane McClanahan's parents were Matthew McClanahan and Sarah Bradley. I do have Jane's siblings and their spouses if you would like. An interesting thing Jane's sister Matilda married Simeon Taylor, I don't know if George and Simeon are related but could be possible according to 1850 census both were born in VA. I also got that bad email attachment my computer wouldn't open it either, thank goodness! Sue

When I look thru the list of e-mails, I, like others, look to the subject line to see if I am interested in reading the mail item. When your response in the subject line says "Maps", I assume, like an ass, that your response has something to do with "MAPS"!!!!! Not the answers that I always see. Ron

    3. Searching for information on Bertie (doubt if that's his real name) WRIGHT. Was probably born btw. 1870-1885... maybe in or around Cannon/Rutherford county. Married Hattie HARRELL abt. 1900 and had the following children: Beatrice, Irene, Joe, Cecil, Howard and Hollis. I was told that Beatrice was killed in a car accident in Atlanta, GA while on her honeymoon. I would assume that would have been in the 1920s or 30s. Hollis was living his grandparents Henry J. & Nancy (BELL) Harrell on the 1920 Rutherford Co. census. The WRIGHT'S are no where to be found. Any tips or guidance would be appreciated! IF that file name ends in .PIF, DO NOT OPEN IT. It is a worm. Hope no one was infected, but I would advise everyone to run their virus software just to be safe. 3. Hi All, Here is a site that may help you to find cemeteries, bridges, landmarks and so on... The results from your first query will first show the information by Latitude & Longitude. However, if you click on a name, it will lead you to the "US Tiger Maps" Below, you will find the URL. I have tried to explain as best I can, how to use this site. The first page has a lot of button's, knob's & switches that you don't need. :-) Kathy Geographic Names This is an excerpt from the front page and what you need to use for your search: Geographic Names Information System United States and Territories 1.)
