    3. There were/are Kings in Bedford County in Rover. Rover is at the county line of Rutherford. There are several King stories in the History of Rover Book I and Book II. I don't remember the names, but made copies some time back for someone on the list. It is part of the autobiographical sketch by Ernest King Johns. "On my mother's side of the family, Mary Frances King (1907-1992) grew up on the farm owned by her grandparents. The Kings came from North Carolina and first lived in Wilson and Williamson counties. Mary Frances received a teaching degree from Tennessee Teachers College and taught school before she was married. 1. [TNRUTHER] King Family
    2. Not sure if we are the same King family, there are several, but........ My Ggrandfather was John W. King, of Franklin, Williamson County, Tennessee. His father was Anthony King, from N. Carolina. His mother was Jane Campbell of Franklin. Anthony was killed during the Civil War and is buried in Tullahoma. Jane is buried in Franklin at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Siblings include but are not limited to, T. P. King and Eliza King. It was reported in his death announcement (1934) that T. P. King was living in Okla., Eliza in Franklin. The house that he built and lived in at the time of his death is still standing on Columbia Pike just outside of downtown Franklin. If you can make the connection, let me know and I will be glad to share what I have. Joyce Mallare hilowahini1942@aol.com Hilo, Hawaii

    3. Barbara Thanks to your kind help I think I have found the father of James W Morgan. In the 1870 Rutherford Co 8th district census there is a Samuel and Martha Morgan with 11 children, James age 30 was one of those children. If my James was 60 in the 1900 census and had been md 30 yrs it could be him. I think my James has been md twice This Samuel had a son named Robert and my James sons were named Samuel and Robert. Other researchers have told me they think Samuel was James' father Thank you a million times. Now if I could only find wills on them. 1. [TNRUTHER] 1850 census question Landers District
    2. kathy
    3. Hi all I wonder might someone be able to help me. I am looking at the 1850 Rutherford Co page 310 of the LANDERS DISTRICT census It apparently has no date of which this census was taken-- on this page. Does someone have some idea on when this might have taken place ? Did this last all year or was it just a few months in the summer as most I'v seen are? Does anyone have a section of the LANDERS DISTRICT 1850? This is a copy of the original. Not indexed copy. Thanks for any help. It's important information as I may have a connection here . This Henry is without a wife, apparently widowed as he has children, My Henry's wife was Mary and there is a Mary with similar last name who died in rutherford co 1850 September. So I'm hopig this census date on this page was taken after sept 1850, and likely to be a match! 3. Hi Carolyn Thank you. Yes I have and am checking all similar lines which include Lantern/Lantron/Lanton and Landrum and have yet to see it spelled the way my grgr grandaddy said it was spelled in his pension files, Lantrum. Ha! Go figure. I guess one hears what he hears. :-) I do know of the landrum line in that area and did find Henry's though turned up not to be mine. I appreciate your input. As of date, I have found no Henry that matches in any Landrum line but am still keeping that option open as well as any others. There was a Lantern line from NC that was found in rutherford co tn also. also the FEW lantrum's I do find online, have actually turned out to be Landrum. Except one that I am looking into now and it seems to be Lanton. My Henry's son Joseph was seen as LANTRON on the 1870. So I lean towards Lanton/Lantron/Lantern and who knows before 1815 what it'll be! ha. 3. LOL. After tracking this name for 3 years now, I don't doubt anything! ha. I'm not giving up, just being open minded. Lannom was too similar to dismiss and since they were in Rutherford where my line is from, I had to ask. Our surname has gone from Lantrum to Lantron to Lanthrum so far and not sure what it was in between or before the first --the name of which I have YET to find on ANY document or census other than pension app of his son . One never knows what has happend in the past. I've even seen Lantern vary as Lantron. Just not sure what it will be from one census to the next. So far only found 3 Lantrum's on the whole world wide web. That seems strange to me. Surely the whole lot didn't just go extinct. I figure the name had to change somehow, for whatever reason, census takers fault or a purpose name change or alteration, unknown to me as of yet. Thanks for checking your data though I really appreciate it. While I'm posting this, Has anyone out there seen anything on a Mary DeVault or Henry Lantrum? Lantron? Lantern? Lanthrum? Lan--anything???? they would be born ca 1810 i suppose. Thanks for any leads. This line from rutherford tn, according to henry's son joseph's obituary, but son was found in williamson co, so focusing on rutherford county right next to williamson county. Lantern and Lantron are pretty rare too, this Lantrum surname may interchange with these or similar other names. ANY LEADS no matter how minute you may think, may be the lead I need. Thanks for anything. Good luck to all.
