    3. Dear Janice, Thanks so much for the Castleman info. My husband hasn't worked on his Castleman line in years, but I'm sure this will prove extremely helpful when he does FINALLY get around to them. I find that the little bit of Castleman info and the HUGE amount of Mauldin info I'm sending to you might be better as an attachment, which I hate to post on the Rutherford board. Can you send me your own e-mail address? Nancy breidenthal@nidlink.com

    2. Since it is nearly the weekend, and the list is so quiet, I am calling a special roll call. What is your favorite Genealogical website to do research on? Please use the subject ROLL CALL FAVORITE WEBSITE, so anyone that isn't interested can just delete that subject line. I'll start with http://www.vmi.edu/ This is the website of the Virginia Military Institute. They have lots of Civil War records online. I know it isn't really a Rutherford Co page, but since most of our Rutherford ancestors came from Virginia, it might be of help to someone. Anyone else? 3. Hi all, I am kinda new to list and this is the first time I have responded to anything. But yes.. Wilson Line Baptist Church is still there off of Jefferson Pike.. My Grandmother and all other family still go there. It is still without indoor plumbing and is still very small. The road is just past Jefferson Springs Rec Area and just before the bridge over the Lake.. There is a sign there that say Wilson Line Baptist Church. I am an Elliott.. My Grandmother's maiden name is Warrick and my Grandfather's last name was Gowan... Do I have any relatives on this list? 1. [TNRUTHER] Re Methodist Circuit Rider
    2. My g.g.g.grandfather was Rev. James McDonnold, a Cumberland Presbyterian circuit rider born in Greene Co, TN. One of his sons was named Benjamin Lakin McDonnold. Benjamin Lakin was a rather famous Methodist circuit rider who was, I believe, at Cane Ridge in 1803 and who died in Ohio. At some point, the two Revs must have known each other.

    3. Marie and Melissa.... My gr grandfather, Richard Woodroof, was also a traveling Evangelist for the Church of Christ...He took his family in a covered wagon all over middle Tennessee and my grandfather, Bernice Bender Woodroof, was born in that wagon....I would be interested in any information you might be able to find about these traveling Preachers...There is a Wilson Line Baptist Church of Christ on land that used to belong my Grandfather's family..It is on the banks of Percy Priest lake, close to where the Wilson and Rutherford county lines would neet if the lake were not there....I have been trying, Unsuccessfully, to find someone who knows something about the history of this Church.... Betty Yes would love to hear anything else you have. The person I'm looking for is my gr gr grandpa William Leon Acuff(born 1842 died 1898). He was a traveling preacher with either the Christian Church(Disciples of Christ) or the Church of Christ. The only census records i can find him in is the 1880 Census. He married Sarah McElroy in 1871. I'm told that they met when he was holding a meeting in 1869 at Antioch Church and I've been in search of where that Antioch church is. I figure it can't be far from the area where he finally settled and where his in laws were from as I can't find him with his parents in any census records. He settled in Van Buren Co. TN so I've been searching all of Middle TN area for Antioch Churches and trying to narrow them down by date of establishment and denomination. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

    3. My great great grandfather, William Ezra M. Linfield, was a Methodist circuit rider. He lived in South Carolina in the mid 1800's and then moved to Holly Springs, Mississippi. There was an early Rutherford County Methodist preacher named Robert Paine, which is the name William gave his son. I've always thought that was neat since my Linfields were never in Middle Tennessee.
