Thanks, I have seen Pleasant White on the census records for Rutherford, but have not made a connection to him. It is possible he is one of mine. I have ordered some copies from the Rutherford County record books, hoping to piece this family together. Do you have Whites in Rutherford, Coffee or Grundy County? Linda

It doesn't cost anything to do a search, and they send you an email if they find a book. They found one I was looking for. It was $150 but was worth it, if I could have afforded it. You don't have to buy the book if you don't want too. Teresa Ghee Elliott TNRUTHER-L@rootsweb.com List Owner

If you are wanting these books for your personal library, you can at times find these books on ebay. You can also try Abebooks.com. Many genealogy bookstores will list through them, so you're not just looking at an individual store. Some of the books can be rather expensive, especially if you don't find any of your own ancestors. You could also try www.helplist.org/usa Cynthia East Peoria, IL
Hi I was excited when I read your e-mail about the Edythe Rucker Whitley books - because I am researching a Davis line in Rutherford Co that has connections to the Rucker and Pearces. Are Edythe's books at the Rutherford Co library? There is a genealogist who does work in Rutherford County. I don't know if she goes to Williamson but you can ask her. Her name is Susan Daniels. She seems like an extremely nice lady. I know she had recent surgery but might be able to help. Her email addy is sgdaniel@home.com Mari Byers At 06:38 PM 12/13/2001 -0600, you wrote: >Gail, > The research booklets of Edythe Rucker Whitley, are located at the >Williamson Co(Tn) Public Library,Franklin,Tn. Gail, The research booklets of Edythe Rucker Whitley, are located at the Williamson Co(Tn) Public Library,Franklin,Tn. From what I hear, you have to go there,or hire a researcher,in order to see them. I know that many of you will be traveling for the holidays and may want to unsubscribe while you are gone. Here is what you need to do: >From the email address you get your TNRUTHER email, send an email to: If you get the digest: TNRUTHER-D-Request@rootsweb.com If you get the individual emails: TNRUTHER-L-Request@rootsweb.com Put UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject line. DO NOT sign you email and put nothing in the message part of the email. If you do, it will bounce back to me, and you may not get unsubscribed for several days, as I, too, will be traveling some. :) If you need help, send me an email marked ATTEN ADMIN and I will get to it as soon as humanly possible. Remember after you unsubscribe, it may take a few days for all the messages to get through the pipe to you, so you may get a few messages even after you unsubscribe. This is a busy time for year for Rootsweb and even it's computer has trouble keeping up at time. To resubscribe after the new year, do the same thing, except put SUBSCRIBE in the subject line. All Rootsweb mailing lists work the same, so you can use the above addresses for all you addresses, just substitute TNRUTHER for the name of the mailing list. I hope everyone is having a safe and merry Christmas, Hanukah, and a happy new year, May the new year bring Peace. Teresa Ghee Elliott TNRUTHER-L@rootsweb.com List Owner

Does anyone have any information about a Holton-Bryant connection in Rutherford County? I'm not sure how far back this may go, possibly the mid 1800's...I'm trying to assist someone. Thanks so much. Mari Byers
Teresa..It won't work the regular way? I used to have that same problem! Every once in a while Rootsweb will have a glitch and it'll take them a while...but they'll get it done.
