    3. Could your Fagon/Fagan also have been spelled Feagan by some? I have an Elizabeth Feagan who md. Charles T. Harris of Wilson Co. TN and later Henry Co. TN, where they are both buried. Their daughter Amanda Margaret md 1) Adam A. HOPE who was killed in the Civil War and 2) Robert A. Carson. Adam's parents Elizabeth "Betsy" Puckett and David Beattie Hope were md. in Rutherford Co. in 1824. I know nothing at all about the Feagans and would appreciate any information on a link. --- Terry Ceballos <tlceballos@attbi.com> wrote: > My surname: REED, FAGON/FAGAN > Time Frame: in the early 1800s to 1850. > Location in Rutherford Co: Unknown > Terry Ceballos __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 1. [TNRUTHER] Middle Tennessee Families
    2. Jackie Johnston
    3. I am looking for information on two people that last name was BROWN. She was born in Virgina around 1810. One is Martha BROWN who married Jefferson EARP. I believe they were married in Bedford County, Tennessee around 1825. I have not been able to locate their marriage in any other county or state. Jefferson and Martha spent most of their married life in Coffee County, Tennessee Martha died sometime after the 1870 Coffee County Tennessee Census. I am also looking for information on a family that lived in Middle Tennessee. They had a daughter named Martha BROWN They possible lived in the Beech Grove area. This would around the early 1800's She was married to Jefferson EARP around 1826. Jefferson children married had several children,. two or three married children from some of the same families. These are the names of the families they married into: FRAZIER, NORTON, STARNES, WHITTEMORE, GUEST, WINFREY, DOUGLASS, AND PAINTERS.Jefferson's mother was suppose to be NANCY MOORE. Jefferson father's name is unknown. I would like to find out which BROWNS could have been Martha's parents? He would marry Elizabth MANKIN after Martha's death. Martha died before the 1880 census I am also looking for a Thomas BROWN (he may have been related to Martha). All I have on him is that he was married on November 27, 1823 in Rutherford County, Tennessee to Rebecca SMOTHERS. Rebecca SMOTHERS was a sister of Wilky SMOTHERS that married James WINFREY also of Coffee County, Tennessee. Some of James and Wilky's children married Jefferson EARP children. James and Wilky (SMOTHERS) Winfrey had the following children: Martha Jane-married William Washington "Wash" EARP, Nancy Rebecca Ann-married Neaploean PATE, John Winfrey, Mary married William A. EARP [cousin to "Wash" EARP], Samuel "Polk" Winfrey, and Annie married James W. Winfrey. These are the ones I know of. Any information on these families would be appreciated. Spelling of names may vary. Thanks in advance. Jackie

Was thinking someone who knows their relatives moved to TX but not where might be interested in checking out this site http://www.rootsweb.com/~txredriv/1900census.html other counties in TX also have the census transcriptions, but when I visited Red River county a few years ago, a resident made the comment that it was settled by TN folk because the area reminded them of middle TN. I can't remember but a couple of names but they were Smotherman and Usery (or something like that). Just a thought. Kay

    3. I can attest to the above map web site,as I've used it very frequently. It offers topographical maps of the USA. And,it's free!. On the front web page, you just type in the town, county and scroll down to the state. Please realize, that anything pretty detailed, can also be a bit challenging. But,not difficult,it's a web site that may take you, a few times,to learn. Once you've picked the town or county and state, the map, will appear. First,as a "small" map. That can be changed to medium or large. It also goes 1 to 25,000,1 to 50,000,etc(magnification). 1 to 25,000 is pretty detalied, but some map details, are hard to read. Would suggest,1 to 50,000. If the map image you have,is not exactly the desired location or centered properly, you can click a spot on the map,to recenter,it. Again, do not expect to master this,on your first try. You can copy the map image. Or, you can save that image, but not by right clicking,"save as" The reason,as told to me,by topozone. com, is that the map is sooo detailed, that if you save as,you'll just get a small portion,of the image. So,once you have the correct map size and magnification and the map is centered as you want,"ALT,CTRL,PRINT SCREEN. Then,I "CONTROL V,and the map shows up on my Wordpad. I then use the SCISSORS,in my Word Pad screen, the map disappears, then open up your photo program, like Adobe or ACDSEE and paste the map there. Then, you can "SAVE AS" as a JPG,or some sort of image. Merry Xmas and a Blessed 2002 to all,in this list. Am grateful, for all the help received from the Rutherford Crew,in the Volunteer State. And,may the good Lord, look over our troops. 2. Looking for info on Canada/Kennedy family. John Kennedy and Elizabeth S. Thurman were married in Rutherford Co. 7-26-1850. Elizabeth's parents were Wiley and Elizabeth Lee-Thurman. I was in Murfreesboro week of Thanksgiving and found their marriage record, but was unable to obtain a copy of application for marriage license as all the records from 1850 were burned during the War. Any info is appreciated!! Thanks, Melissa Foster-Rose :)
