Some are relatives, but according to Grace Coleman, the entire student body came out to have the photo taken, and family members were welcome along with anyone else they wanted to include.

I am looking for help in researching this family: Joseph M. Blair born 2/24/1887, his father Joseph born 1862 (had brothers William T. & George) and his father Joseph M. born abt 1828 who married Martha Jane Philpott. I have found them in the 1850, 1860, 1870 & 1880 Rutherford census. I don't have access to the 1900 or 1910 census, and would like those, but have found my family in 1920 & 1930. I would like to know who Joseph 1862 and Joseph M. b 1887 married. I have that 1887 Joseph died May 1968 and would love to find an obit on him. I have not been able to positively identify who the father of Joseph 1828 is. I believe it is either James W. or John F. since they are next to him in the 1850, but my computer hangs up when I try to enlarge the image on ancestry enough to read it. Any help appreciated! Some of the folks in this picture are Carnahan folks. Albert Lunsford Carnahan was born on 20 May 1866 in Rutherford Co., Tn. He first married Mary Frances Becton on 3 Feb 1887 in Rutherford and then had one daughter Bessie Carnahan b. abt 1888. He then married Ella Bulley on 11 Mar 1896 and they had 3 children that I know of - Lurleen abt 1897, Willie Burton, Jan 1899 and Eula abt 1903. These are the folks in the picture. They are descended from Andrew Carnahan and Elizabeth Billingsley. Andrew died in Rutherford Co., Tn in 1839. Am working on the Carnahan family. Is anyone else on the list also interested in this family. Thanks and take care - Emma
