    2. No, I haven't been to the archives in Franklin, but I sure will do so right after the holidays. I am only about 15 minutes from Franklin so getting there will be one of those "pleasure" rides. I am not looking forward to the trip into Nashville, but really must check out their archives, also. Thanks for your help with the Morton's and I hope I'll be able to find a connection. 1. MORTON
    2. If anyone is researching the MORTON line from Rutherford County, I would like to compare notes. I am searching for a missing Anderson County, TN MORTON brother. His name was either James or Thomas but it could be that my gg-grandfather, David MORTON, had another brother that I don't know about. The family history states that "the brothers came over the mountains from NC and one brother settled in Blount County, one in Rutherford County, one in Bell County, KY and David, George, Thomas (until after the 1840 census) and sister, Mary Ann Morton, settled in Anderson County, TN." On the 1830 Anderson County census, James Morton is between 40-50 years of age and has a wife and children. However, this census does not list names of the family members. James and family disappear after the 1830 census and depending upon the real age of James, he could be the father of David, George, Thomas and Mary Ann as both David and George named their first-born sons, "James." James's farm is located close by David and his family. Unfortunately, David dies of pneumonia at age 38 and not much else is known of his missing family members except those who stayed in East TN. I "believe" it was Thomas who went to KY, but that is only my theory. Thanks for any advanced help. I am now living in Spring Hill, TN, so my research has taken on a much better outlook. 3. Hello, I am trying to find the whereabouts of Betty Cilla JACKSON b 1918 Dekalb Co TN to Charles & Laura ASKEW JACKSON. Between 1920 & 1930 they moved to Murphreesboro. Charles was a lawyer. Perhaps Cilla married around the late 1930's. If anyone has access to marriages for this time I would really, really appreciate a lookup. Then I would have a great lead to finding her. Thanks for your time, Joanne
