Hello! Does anyone know of any published journals by women living in rural East TN or NC from the mid-1700s-late 1800s? I am trying to get a feel for what their daily lives were like. How did they cope with having a child every 15 months or so? And then losing 3 at a time to diphteria, as my ggrandmother did? What did they think about the Indian raids? What about the isolation? Any pointers to a published woman's view of these times will be greatly appreciated. I am in awe of what these women endured for us to be here now! Thanks. Mona
Mona, You may want to check with Ancestry.com regarding a magazine they publish, called History. It has some excellent information in each of the copies-----the kind that you are talking about and they might be able to tell you if they have information, in past issues, that is more specific to what you are wanting, or to refer you to another source. Good luck. Betty ----- Original Message ----- From: "mona everett" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2001 10:21 AM Subject: [TNROOTS] Women's lives > Hello!
