Bev, I think we may have the same problem with our Dalton. I have my gggrandparents as Rote Barnes and Becky Dalton. I have found what I believe to be their marriage listed in Hawkins County TN. They were married as Roten Barnes and Rebecy Dalton on April 7, 1869. this is my brick wall. I have a photo of them and all their children's manes and some birth dates. The children were all born in Greene County, TN (the next county over from Hawkins). I've been unable to connect her to any Dalton but with your dates she could be a daughter. Do you have any other info that we might compare? I would love it if we could connect.
