Thank you for helping me locate records for J J McKinney and William McKinney. They both served in Co E, Balentine's Regiment, Armstrong's Brigade, Jackson's Div. But, J J (John) Didn't join this unit until May 25, 1863, in west Tennessee. However, in my grandmother's application for a widow's pension, she stated he was in the Confedracy from 1861-1865. We know he served a part of his time under General Nathan Bedford Forest. I saw somewhere on this list (I think I'm correct) that there was a unit called the Scouts for Nathan Bedford Forest. I'm curious if he could have been with them before he joined the Partisan Rangers under Balentine. This unit I have mentioned belonged to Mississippi, I understand. Again, thank you for your trouble.
