Hello Folks, I am new to this list and hope we can exchange some data. Most of my work so far has been in VA, SC, GA, and AL but now the trail has led to TN. I need help finding a marriage record (implied or actual) for an Edward WADE b. 1760 VA (probably b. in Pittsylvannia Co VA) who married a Nancy or Ann (surname unknown). I believe this marriage took place in TN. The father of Edward WADE received land grants (from Rev. War service) in the Sullivan Co area of TN and in the late 1770s or early 1780s they moved from VA to TN. I suspect the marriage of Edward WADE and Nancy/Ann UNKNOWN would have been between 1778-1790. Does anyone know if there are abstracts of these early TN marriages? This Edward was the son of Edward and Mary Clements WADE. Siblings of Edward are: Lucy, David, Grissel, Peyton, Richard, James, Mary, Thomas, and Chloe. I believe all these folks were born in VA. About 1790 the family split up and left TN with some going to Greene Co GA and others going to Pendleton Dist SC. I know a great deal about this family but very little about Edward and his wife Nancy (or Ann). I would very much appreciate any assistance in finding the maiden name of Nancy.
