I.H.Bond, a prominent merchant of Calhoun,was born in Knox County,Tenn., twelve miles below Knoxville,March 10, 1828, a son of George and Eliza (Swan) Bond.He received an excellent education at Maryville,Blount County,Tenn., After traveling extensively over the South he attended school at Clinton, Anderson County,Tenn.,for one year. He then went to Texas,where he taught school for four years,and returned to East Tennessee one year after the outbreak of the Rebellion. He was in the employ of the Confederate Government one year,
