CEMETERY LINKS: McFARLING IN TENNESSEE by Wanda want2be29@aol.com On highway 95 going from Lenoir City, Tennessee, a little south of Knoxville, go south on 321 to South 95 (they are the same road) toward Oak Ridge. After crossing over Melton Hill Lake, a tiny cemetery is approximately six miles farther on the right. >From the road, a cross and the one headstone can be seen up at the edge of the woods. It is part of Oak Ridge complex and isn't tended any more, but is clean. I kept seeing the headstone when I passed. Recently I stopped and climbed up the bank to find this headstone enclosed in a very small space: J. C. McFARLING Co. C 8th Tenn. Inf. There are no dates on the headstone. Also within the barbed wire fence are four flat stones with nothing written on them. On one of the posts a cross is attached that says: BURNS + The post has the number 9 on it.
