    1. [TNROOTS] Acts of Tennessee 1831-1850

    3. Hi All, Due to computer and email problems, i've been unable to do much. I have been searching for more detailed info at, "The Tennessee archives in relation to "Cherokees who became Tennessee Citizens". My only conclusion: "people of color" were apparently not considered eligible for citizenship until "Acts of Tennessee 1831-1850". As there has been one mention of Indian blood and my own observation that a FARMER 3rd cousin who became my Great Aunt, by marriage into my AMOS line, had a darkish color and tho did not have Indian features, did have some unusual characteristics, though not as remember the Indians of Montana. This line begins in 1818 with Rebecca WILSON marrying Wm. FARMER in Blount County. The likelyhood that a "white" who wed an Indian was usually a male. I have found some Cherokee WILSONs who were granted Citizenship to Tennessee in 1833. Rebecca is among the list which is likely one family and hopefully I will find that she is the key to my WILSON families. Does anyone have more details asto this Act? I sure would appreciate any additional info. Thanks, Jim
