    1. [TNROOTS] Ky. Morrows/Iowa Bloom's
    2. Kathy
    3. Are there any Ky., Morrow's being researched?? All I have is my GGGrandfather was born in Ky., around 1829, and was the son of William & Mary Haddox/Morrow. Joseph made it to California around 1850 and married Henrietta or Hettie Bloom, possibly in Iowa, where she was born. She died in 1863, age 24, in Franklin Ca, near Sacramento Ca. I can't find a Death Cert., or burial place for Hettie. I happened to stop at a Cemetery in the country and found her sister in 2000, and same situation happened in 2001, but this time I found her son. Both with in 20 miles of Sacramento Ca. Any ideas or advice. I've put this out the several times in the past. I am not sure where in Iowa, or when she was born. She may have died on March 17, 1863. Parent's William Henry Harrison Bloom & Delilah Dye/Bloom, both buried in the Old Pioneer Section, of the Sacramento City Cemetery!! Also looking for information any on a Gen. Joe Wheeler, of the Confederate Army. And his Major Surgeon, Patrick Hamilton Thornton, possibly born in Tenn., and buried in San Francisco Ca. And Hamilton Thornton, possibly a Plantation Owner & South Stage Coach Owner, somewhere in Tenn. Hamilton is Patrick's father. I'm not familiar with any of these areas or the history, as I'm a West Coast Girl. Sincerely!! Kathy!! P.S. Marilyn, The Cemeteries for the San Francisco area were priceless to me. I found 9 family members, All but one are, Great to GGGgrandparent's and some new Mysteries. Please email me, as I've misplaced your address. tot@wave.net

    3. Oh, my goodness....I forgot to put the names of my ancestors in my original request below. DUH???? They are Elijah Henry FARRIS....who sometimes went by Lige & Renia (Irene) BEAM. This could possibly be a middle name. Thank you for Understanding List! ----- Original Message ----- From: Linda Antal To: TNROOTS-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, September 06, 2002 10:03 PM Subject: 1898 / marriage / unknown county Hello, I am hoping that someone who has one of those marriage books for any of the counties in Tennessee can do a look-up for me? I have ancestors who were married on August 17, 1898....according to what was written on back of the photo. We have no idea where they were married at.....only that they had ran away to get married because of the young age of the bride (she was 13). Does anyone know where a couple could possibly have gotten married without parental consent from that era? I have been told that TN would be a good possibility.....but I am wanting to try all counties. They were originally from KY....but I have searched high & low for their marriage record. I am now thinking that it might be possible that they traveled to another state to be married.....so I am attempting the surrounding states. Any help will be great appreciated! Thank You! 1. [TNROOTS] Free Workshop with Dr. George Schweitzer-- Gallatin, Tennessee
    2. East Tennessee Historical Society
    3. Whether your ancestors wore blue or gray in the American Civil War, the East Tennessee Historical Society is offering a free workshop to help find your family’s Civil War story. The free class will be held 2 to 4 p.m. (Central Time) on Saturday, September 21, 2002, in the Gallatin City Hall in Gallatin, Tennessee. The instructor, Dr. George K. Schweitzer, is a popular, nationally known lecturer and author of nineteen genealogy research books. Participants will learn how to determine if an ancestor served in the Civil War and how to locate records for both Confederate and Union veterans. Participants do not need Tennessee ancestors to participate since the information will be useful to researchers regardless of their ancestor’s home state. The classes are a celebration and introduction to a new statewide initiative sponsored by ETHS to track down descendants of Civil War soldiers who lived, fought, or died in the Volunteer State. The new heritage program, “Civil War Families of Tennessee,” celebrates the unique role of individuals in Tennessee’s Civil War story. The workshop is co-sponsored locally by the Gallatin Bicentennial Celebration Committee, Inc. For additional information about the free workshop visit the ETHS web site at http://www.east-tennessee-history.org.

    1. [TNROOTS] From your List Manager PLEASE READ.......
    2. Hi Folks, Please do your List Manager a big favor and check your computers for any kind of Virus. The past 3 days on average I've been getting 10 or more e-mails with virus attachments. I've had to unsubscribe the folks that are sending them until they get their computers checked up. It's much easier to prevent a Virus than it is to fix one. NEVER EVER download anything from anyone even if it looks like it comes from a rootsweb admin address. Always, ALWAYS, Always, verify that someone sent you something to download BEFORE you download it. If it takes them a day to get back to you, let it take a day for your curiosity to build, and not kill your computer. Most of the Virus files come with no text but the ones that do have text typed up sound like some chinese person typed it. I might have a computer with a Southern California accent but I can assure you mine doesn't have a Chinese accent. <G> If you don't have a virus scan software on your computer or if yours isin't up to date, you can go to the site below and it will walk you through the steps to check for a virus. It might take 20 or 30 minutes the first time you use it but it will take less time the next time you do. It's well worth the time! <A HREF="http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp">Free online virus scan</A> http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp Regards, Pamela Burnette Your List Manager ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Researching the following surnames: AUSMUS, BREEDING, CRUTCHFIELD, CUPP, ELLISON, ENGLAND, FAULKNER/FORTNER/FORKNER, GOIN, GREER, HURST, JOHNSON, KECK, KILLION, OUSLEY/OWSLEY, ROARK, RUSSELL, SNAVELY, WAGGONER, WYRICK, YADON and other assorted and connected families. <A HREF="http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ccpp/pioneer/index.htm">CLAIBORNE COUNTY PIONEER PROJECT</A> http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ccpp/pioneer/index.htm
