I don't know where it starts or end, but it does run through Columbia, which is south of Nashville. Tricia
Another thing, if you are researching in the vicinity of Washington and Jefferson Counties you absolutely cannot discount the Watuga Settlers. Watuga was a vital link in the area's history. Alma, If you will visit www.tngenweb.org/washington or www.tngenweb.org/jefferson the information will be there. You might also look for links on "Goodspeed's History of......." a valuable source. Barring that folks on the North east Tennessee list will know since we cover that area. Can anyone tell me where Ducks River is in TN? Thank you Alma
Can someone tell me when and from where Jefferson and Washington Counties were formed? Thank you Alma
Trying to find any information on Caswell Hicks' parents and his birth and death dates and places. Census shows TN birthplace and approximate birth year of 1801. Also seeking info on his wife, Charlotte Ailey, b. abt. 1820 in TN according to census. Thanks!
Hi Barbara, Thank you for responding to my email. The only one of Jesse and Nancy's children that was born in Tennesse was their first born, William Clark Meredith Dalton. The remainder were born in Missouri. Some of their given names are common with a Dalton line in Grainger County, Tennessee, but I have found no known connection. There are many branches of the Dalton line filled out, but there are many still blank and I keep hoping that something will turn up. I will keep your info and let you know if I see them anywhere. Thanks, Bev Clark The Wagoner's wrote: > Bev, I think we may have the same problem with our Dalton. I have my > gggrandparents as Rote Barnes and Becky Dalton. I am trying to find anything on R.P.(Ruben Perry) HICKS, born in Tenn. and married Margaret Ann PINCHBACK on 7/17/1874 in Weakley Co. Tenn. His parents may have been Ruben and Miriah HICKS. They had one son Lawson, born ca. 1875 in Tenn. after which time, according to family history, they went to Ark. where Margaret became pg with their 2nd son, Uriah H. R.P.(Ruben) is said to have left Margaret and the family in Ark. and returned to Tenn., remarried and had another family. I thought, after 4 years of research that I had found him in Obion Co. but it turns out this was another R.P. HICKS. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Rita (HICKS) DonCarlos
Bev, I think we may have the same problem with our Dalton. I have my gggrandparents as Rote Barnes and Becky Dalton. I have found what I believe to be their marriage listed in Hawkins County TN. They were married as Roten Barnes and Rebecy Dalton on April 7, 1869. this is my brick wall. I have a photo of them and all their children's manes and some birth dates. The children were all born in Greene County, TN (the next county over from Hawkins). I've been unable to connect her to any Dalton but with your dates she could be a daughter. Do you have any other info that we might compare? I would love it if we could connect.
