    2. Roger, I agree with you completely. I too, may be speaking out of turn, but as a legal professional, I do have a very inquiring mind and sometimes it may not be in the right direction, but when we get frustrated searching for our ancestors it helps to have a few monments of pleasure to get your mind off your frustrating efforts that you have come up against. If I get kicked off the list so be it, but I too am of mixed ancestry and am proud of that fact. As a matter of fact, I am 9/16 Native American and of all kinds of other mixes. I do not want anything (monies) from my ancestors, for I have already enough to take care of myself and that effort was made by hard work and not something that was given to me by the Government for being of a certain race. I am just trying to find out about my ancestors and the trials they had to face being in a new country. I hope EVERYONE has a VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY, no matter what their nationality. Nancy

    3. Would ANYONE have any idea where I might look for the grave of Stephen Farmer and/or Nancy Russell Farmer? He died in Claiborne County, Tennessee, circa 1835 and Nancy circa 1850. (Nancy MAY be here in Harlan County - haven't finished looking yet....) Thanks! Toni Farmer

    3. How sad for this young woman and her family. We have really come a long way with anitbiotics and antibiotic ointments, if she had only been able to have this. Thanks for this obit so we can see what our ancestors had to bear with. Michelle Beth Bond wrote: > Hi all, > This little obituary is from "The Times-Dispatch," Richmond, Va., Weds., > Dec. 21, 1904 issue, page 12: > > Miss Mary Novel. > BRISTOL, TENN., Dec. 20.-Miss Mary Novel, aged twenty, accomplished > daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. 3. Well, Maggie, I'm with you...except I'm down here in Florida wishing I could go to my Granny Mary's in Tennessee and have homemade Parker House rolls and some of that Tennessee ham with her once again. I have said before that I am really more interested in how our folks lived and what they did with their lives than I am in what date they were born and what date they died. A little lightening up now and then should be ok when we get so discouraged about not being able to get that hard to find information. Jo... 3. 12/2/00 I'm DEFINATELY with you, Maggie. It's hard to come by some of those good ole Southern Recipes, and the one from Nancy in LA is one I've searched for for years. I'm happy I was able to get it before the recipes got cut off the 'heritage List". My precious Grandmother, too, taught me to cook her recipes and I had them all written down, but Mama's house burned while we were overseas in the Army and I lost them all. Don't know why everybody can't ENJOY life a little and stop killing OUR JOY that is so precious to our hearts. Dolores in FL

Billy Pierce Billy, have you checked www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/Tenn.html?? or www.interments.net/data/search.html There are others giving cemetery listings--or just check at the Johnson City Public Library. Write them--they have a great genealogy room. I know---I got locked in there one night because I didn't realize how late it was and the doors were closed. I had to find the janitor to let me out! 2. Hi "Yall"! Since folks are busy with holidays and the list is slow, I send a Tater Casserole Recipe. Potato Casserole Saute one chopped onion in 1/2 stick oleo. Combine in a mixing bowl: 1 pkg. frozen hash-browns [grated are best], 1 can cream of chicken soup [undiluted] 1 cup sour cream , 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese and sauted onion. Mix, salt & pepper [I use white pepper and a dash of cyanne pepper. Don't need much salt] Bake uncovered about 25 minutes at 350 degrees Susie T. Download NeoPlanet at http://www.neoplanet.com
