I know you said mostly around Nashville, but if you have access to any records in Maury County, would appreciate a lookup for my great-grandmother. Her name was Joann D. Galloway, sometimes written as Joe Ann. She was born in 1852 in Tennessee. In 1868 she married Dillon Christopher Dannelley in Maury County, Tennessee. I am in particular looking for any information on her parents, perhaps on the 1960 and 1870 census if possible. I got a hit off the LDS site on the marriage, but my great-grandfather's last name was spelled Dannellcy rather than Dannelley. It is known to have been spelled many different ways including with a Do...rather than a Da.... Any help you can give me is very much appreciated. Hi: Was wondering, if someone, would check, and see if they could find a John Riley McKinley, born in Ohio County, Ky., in 1883, and later migrated to Tennessee, ca. 1900-1905. Would like to know anything available, on him. He was a brother to my grand father. You could e-mail me personally at ( [email protected] ) Thanks Howard McKinley
Would you have anything listed on a Mary (Polly) Brents, b. abt. 1805, or a James (N?) Clift, b. abt. 1805, also. Census for 1850 Lincoln County shows that James was b. in TN, Williamson Co., I believe, and Mary Brents was shown as from NC. This is not much to go on, but have been searching for their parents for ages with no luck. Thanks for your offer. You are probably swamped with requests. I'll be patient. Joyce Park Riggs

<I have access to a lot of early tennessee records. Especially the Nashville area, am willing to do lookups within reason.> Would you have anything on a William (Henry?) MCKINNEY? I find him first in Lincoln Co., TN in 1840 when he marries Elizabeth Wakefield. Before that is blank. On his daughter's death record, it is stated her father was born in TN. The 1850 and 1860 Lincoln Co. census states he was born in SC. Recently I read a statement that people at one time believed that the area just south of Lincoln Co., TN was SC. I have never been able to connect him to any SC McKinneys, so believe I will research TN before 1840 for him and his family. William was my great grandfather and his second son, John (J J) McKinney was my grandfather. Will appreciate any help you can give me. Sincerely, Dortha McElroy Greenlee

I am so glad to have someone offer to give some help to us-----but particularly me-----because TN. is one of my proverbial brick walls. I would very much appreciate if you could see what information you can find on my GGGrandfather, Jesse Taylor, who was born in N..C, but was, according to the information I have, mararied to Catherine Holt, in Rutherford Co., TN, 30 July, 1816. She was from SC, so I am not sure how they got together. One of their sons, Thomas, was born in Perryville, TN on 13 Jan. 1845. I am not sure how long he was in TN before he moved to Texas. I do not have middle initials on either of them. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated! Hi Folks, I am new to this list. In particular, I am looking for any information on the first marriage of my father, Chester Harvey Sheffield (1899-1969), to Margaret F. (maiden name unknown). Margaret was apparently a Registered Nurse Since my father was a disabled WWI veteran, it is possible that they met in a Veterans' hospital. The marriage would have taken place sometime between 1920 and 1932 (probably later rather than earlier in this span of years). The divorce took place sometime between 1938 and 1941. Chester Harvey (or C. Harvey) was an employee of the Norfolk and Western Railroad and lived in Memphis, Knoxville, Nashville, and Chattanooga at various times. Thanks for any information. Sheila

I am researching a great grandmother born in TN in 1839. Her name was Elizabeth Wadkins. I don't know her parnets names only that she was orphaned at a young age and ended up in Johnson County, AR. Any one who might have information on this Wadkins family I would really like to hear from you. Thanks Judy
