I just finished 10 more census spreadsheets, this time covering the states of New York, Kansas, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin. There are now 26 different spreadsheets to download free from my website at http://censustools.com to let you electronically organize your census data from the U.S. federal (1790-1920), Canada (1851-1901), England (1841-1819), Ireland (1821-1911), Scotland (1841-1891), Kansas (1865-1925), Massachusetts (1855-1865), New York (1825-1925) and Wisconsin (1836-1905). Each spreadsheet has worksheets for each applicable census year, formatted to match the original microfilmed records. The New York state spreadsheet also has a page for the 1890 NY City police census. Help yourself! Gary __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? The last two weeks have been interesting for those of us working with the USGenWeb Archives. During the period 23-25 February, RootsWeb (our Internet Service Provider) relocated to a new facility with all new servers. After getting back on-line, the Search Engine did not work for three days, and folks trying to use it got that awful "FORBIDDEN" message. When the Search Engine did return to operation, another problem popped up, which required us to redo all of the county Tables of Content. I'm happy to report that everything seems to be working OK (knock-knock), and despite the hectic times, we did get quite a few new documents archived. They can be viewed at URL: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/tn/newdocs.htm Our thanks go out to all of the nice people who took the time to share their research documents with others. I'm trying to find out about the Zibart Brothers, who were apparently post card printers/publishers. My GG Grandfather came from a large family (so I'm told), and all I know is that their were "many" brothers. My GG Grandfather lived in Kentucky with his family, and I belive 2 of his brothers. Although he was a carpenter, almost all his sons, and at least one brother were employed as sigh painters, and by an advertizing company I keep stumbling across the Zibarts name connected to a postcard company. but can't find out who these Zibarts were. Any help or ideas where I can look would be appreciated. debs

>>Excuse me but there are no Link men listed, As stated, I have over 10,000 names on line, but that is just a fraction of the men who served from Tennessee. I will be working to bring the additional names on line, as I have an essentially complete index of Tennessee soldiers - both Confederate and Union. My grandfather was born in Lincoln Co., TN. He joined the CSA in west TN in May, 1863 and this unit was a Mississippi unit. His records are found in MS. Maybe this would account for some records not being found. Dortha

Last weekend, RootsWeb temporary went off-line to perform maintenance of its servers and hosting process. Most of the services came back on-line Sunday evening. One of the services that RootsWeb provides, the Search Engine for the USGenWeb Archives, remains off-line. When you attempt to use the Search Engine you may see the following: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/htsearch on this server. That is an automated notice that is part of the Search Engine software. It means that work is being done on the Search Engine, and it is not aimed at anyone personally. We have suggested that RootsWeb provide a more meaningful message so that users would understand what is going on. I am hopeful that the Search Engine will return to full service shortly.
