I would appreciate anyone who can help me find this family. I have been stumped for ages on this one. I have a JAMES SAMUEL JONES who lived somewhere in TN, with a wife and children, and left them after 1880 and took up with a Indian girl in Lake county Tn. Of course cant find anything in 1890. He then changed his name, and went by the name of Sam Edwards. Sam lived with Sally Hopper (dont think this is her real name either) in Lake county Tn. Sam died about 1910 in boot heel of Mo, and before he died, his real wife came to Mo and said his real name was BUD JONES and said he has children in Tn that he hasn't seen for yrs. IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE LOOKING FOR A BUD JONES FROM TN, I MAY HAVE YOUR GUY. Please contact me.

Thanks. I have been contacting some folks in MS, since at one time the BARNETT family was in MS. The 1st wife died in AL, and her body was relocated to another section of the cemetery -- my understanding is that she was first buried in a "desirable" lot of the Mason's Cem. [as in Mason/Eastern Star], and then the Masons had it moved!! I will get this information on to the person who asked my help. If someone has access to TN marriage records in the late 1920's - 1930 I would appreciate a lookup for the following: Virgie Mae BARNETT The story is: In 1931, Virgie Mae placed her month old daughter [Nora] up for adoption in Chattanooga, TN. The child has received a copy of the adoption records, etc. [which did not become available until a few years ago]--the father was listed as Earl MASON. Nora was adopted to a very nice family, her name changed, and now resides in MS. Virgie Mae died in Jacksonville, FL, 1940/41--do not know her last name at the time of death. I would love to be able to find a marriage record for: Enoch or Eppraim Byrd/Bird to Phoebe ???? - Would have been 1850-1860 in TN. He was born in TN, she was born in TN. I am including WHY they are buried there. Thought you may want to post this. Capt. J.H. LEWIS Co. E 1st Regiment of TN John LANE Co. B 9th Reg. of TN Capt. C.W. BENNETT Co. G 44th Reg. of TN CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS' GRAVES located in Oakwood Cemetary in High Point, (Guilford County) NCFrom 1863 thru 1865,over 5,000 wounded Confederate Soldiers were brought to High Point, NC by train and treated at a temporary hospital,formerly the Bellvue Hotel, which was across the street from the depot.Fifty of these soldiers were known to have died while at the hospital and were buried at various gravesites around the town. It is unknown if they died of their actual wounds or of smallpox, which was in epidemic in the area at that time. About 10 years later, the bodies were all moved to the Oakwood Cemetary and marked accordingly.
