Juanita, I would suspect that it could have been spelled as COFFEE. They certainly slaughtered most of the names back then. I don't recognize the name Meredith. I think my bunch were in Roane Co. and prior to that from NC. I haven't done much on my research lately - too much holiday preparation, I think. I'll keep your mail and holler at you after Christmas.
