Hello, This is a note for Milly, who is on this list. I'm not sure if this is really a Roane Co. question, so I'll be brief. Milly, in your list of surmames, MINTON is one of them. We also have Mintons. Ellen Elizabeth MINTON (ca 1848 to ca 18730) m. Thomas W. CHILTON. Her parents were Mary Jane CHADWELL and James Wilbern MINTON. His father was Zachariah MINTON. I don't have all my info, but Ellenwas born in Tennessee and I think the family was from NC, but not positive. This doesn't seem like a large family, so I thought there might be a connection.
