Thank you Leota, I will go take a look at the site and see if I can find the name. I went to our Library yesterday and looked at their large maps and that Island didn't have a name on it... But Jones Island and the Grubb Island did.. Thank for the information on where to find this.. I am looking for a LewAllen/LouAllan/Llewlyn Tucker family in Roane Co, prior to 1839. I believe his wife's name was Jane and they had 7 kids, Catherine who married Loyce Grubbs 26 Jan 1842 in Roane Co, Armstead who married Elizabeth Billingsley 23 Mar 1843 in Roane Co, Joseph Pascal who married Mary Yearwood in 1850 location unknown, John W who married Mary Alice Stpehens 4 July 1847 possibly Roane Co, Thomas who I have no information on, LewAllen/Allen Harvie who married Elvirie Roark location unknown, Robert who married Siotha. The senior Llewlyn died in 1839 between ages of 60-69, which leads me to possibly believe this may have been a second family for him. Also in the 1850 census, there is a Henry Hastings listed as a stepbrother...which again makes me think of this as a second family. In my immediate family, there is speculation about Llewlyn being a brother to Robert Tucker born abt 1775-1780. The only thing I can confirm is the existence of the family and the death date, any more than that is specualtion. Anyone have any connections??? I also am looking for a William & Catherine Keeling in Roane Co. William was born abt 1808 in NC, county unknown at this time. Catherine may have gone by the name of Katy Burnett/Barnett prior to marriage which was in Lewis Co, 26 Aug 1826. Catherine was born abt 1805 in SC, county unknown at this time. Any information anyone has on this couple would be gratefully appreciated...I have enough brick walls. They were the parents of 3 boys and 4 girls, George, John Dudley, William Carroll, Rhoda Jane, Nancy O, Louisa and Catharine. William and Catherine ended their lives in Barry Co, MO as did Rhoda who married William John Davidson. Naturally I am unable to fill in the blanks prior to their marriage in Lewis Co.
