Thanks, Brenda > Hi Brenda and All, I have often wondered if Ann Smith was the daughter of the William Smith who married Eleander Collier in 1820 in Roane Co., TN. I believe he was the father of my 2 gr grandfather, Joshua Smith, b. 1822 who married Eliza Joiner in 1844 in Roane Co. I was kinda thinking that Ann Smith, Joseph Smith and Joshua Smith were brothers and sisters. Eliza Joiner was the daughter of Charlton Joiner. Her brother William E. Joiner married Laurinda Owings, daughter of Alfred George Owings and Mary Long. Alfred George Owings was the son of Edward Owings and Elizabeth Sumpter. This kinda goes with the discussion, also on this list of the Owings family. Joshua Smith must have died by 1855 or so, because Eliza Joiner, along with her SMITH children and her parents, Charlton and Elizabeth Joiner went to Franklin Co. MO to join her brother, William E. Joiner and Laurinda Owings. William E. Joiner and Laurinda Owings wound up in Pulaski Co., MO where they both died in 1882. I know I am rambling, but OWINGS, JOINERs and SMITHs were closely related and seemed to live around Joiner Hollow in Roane Co. Best regards, Joanna Smith Dunn
