Crossville Chronicle obit... Gloria J. Kent Oct. 9, 1937 - Jan. 6, 2003 Gloria Jean Kent, 65, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 6, 2003. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 7 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. Joe Franzone officiated. Mrs. Kent was born Oct. 9, 1937 in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Ernest Overby and Veronica Moore Smith. She was retired from the Kroger Company and a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. Survivors include her husband, Dan Kent, Sr. of Crossville; son and daughter-in-law, Dan Kent, Jr. and Cindy of Crossville; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and John Ward of Rockwood; daughter, Peggy Russell of Crossville; grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica Kent, Kris, Kevin and Karl Phillips, Chantilly Young and Mandy Ward; great-grandchildren, Tyler Kent, Kayla Kent and Jaden Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Joyce Overby of Georgia; sisters-in-law, Winnie Jeffers, Vida Pearl Durley, Mary Beth and Homer Corbett; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Holloway and Jo Marshall. Pallbearers were Joseph Kent, Kristopher Phillips, Kevin Phillips, Karl Phillips, Buddy Overby and Ricky Holloway. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
