Norma, I am going to go WAY, WAY, WAY out on the edge of a small limb here......Most of my mothers family and related collateral lines moved from Roane County, TN to SWMO in the early to mid 1800's. Specifically Polk County, MO. In the past week I discussed with a woman on the list about a MITCHELL/KIRK union. This MITCHELL family line came from eastern TN, including Roane County and moved into Polk County as well.........so, even though I don't have an answer for you directly....if you cannot find this person specifically, you might backtrack to Polk County, MO. See if the KIRK's there are related to KIRK's in Roane County, TN. Just a thought is all... I found in my grandparents Bible a page that says Lona Murphy and Alexander Leffew were married in Mr and Mrs Walter Kirks home on June 04, 1908 by Squire Serve. > > Sadie Leffew and a Miss Edwards were in attendance. Lona and Alexander were my grandparents and Sadie Leffew was my great aunt. I do not know about Miss Edwards. I do know they were married in Harriman. > > Thanks > Norma Leffew Farrell > >
